Application settings and preferences.
Settings¶
To change application settings open the File
menu and select Preferences
.
A window will open where on the left you'll see the available sections, like App settings and blind system specific sections and on the right the available settings per section.
App settings¶
App language¶
- Start the FABtool (Preferrably the demo version of the system you intend to use)
- Go to
settings
and selectapp settings
. - Go to
App
and look forApp language
. Select a language from the pull down. - Click
save
and restart the tool.
Default product¶
Each time the app is started it presents the user with a product-type to be programmed. It is possible to define which product will be presented at startup:
- Start the FABtool.
- Open the
File
menu and selectPreferences
. - Select the your blind system on the left.
- Look for
Default product
and choose a product from the pull down. - Click
save
and restart the tool.
Available products¶
Per installation it is possible to define which products can be programmed by the fabtool.
- Start the FABtool.
- Open the
File
menu and selectPreferences
. - Select the your blind system on the left.
- Look for
Available products
to see all implemented products. To make a product available check it. Un-check it if you want to hide it for this instance of the FABtool. - Click
save
and restart the tool.
App version¶
- Start the FABtool (Preferrably the demo version of the system you intend to use)
- go to
settings
and selectabout
. - A small window will open. Look for
App version
in the text.
Updating the tool¶
If you're connected the internet the tool will automatically check for updates and notify you if an update is available.
You can also manually check by going to the App release page:
- In the App, open the
File
menu and selectAbout
. - Notice the version number.
- In that same window select
go to release page
. A web browser will open and navigate to a page indicating the latest app version.
Release channels¶
For production environments it is advised to use the "production" release channel. If you want to get the latest changes, and don't mind a crash here and there you can change to beta channel.
- In the App, open the
File
menu and selectPreferences
. - In the first tab
App
look forRelease Channel
. - Change it to the channel you prefer to use.
Custom translations¶
The FABtool can use fabricator specific product names. These custom names are based on an "id code" which you have received from your app provider.
To use a custom translation:
- In the App, open the
File
menu and selectPreferences
. - In the first tab
App
look forApp language
. - In the
Custom translations id
field, enter the code you have received. - Restart the FABtool.
