Usage and configuration

After you have installed the tool following the installation instructions your computer will have a couple of icons on your home screen:

You can delete any of the icons you do not intend to use (like the demo icons or systems you will not be programming.)

Default product

Each time the app is started it presents the user with a product-type to be programmed. It is possible to define which product will be presented at startup:

  1. Start the FABtool (Preferrably the demo version of the system you intend to use)
  2. Go to settings, select app settings and navigate to the system you want to configure
  3. Look for Default product and choose a default product from the pull down.
  4. Click save and restart the tool.

Available products

Per installation it is possible to define which products can be programmed by the fabtool.

  1. Start the FABtool (Preferrably the demo version of the system you intend to use)
  2. Go to settings, select app settings and navigate to the system you want to configure.
  3. Look for Available prodcuts to see all implemented products. To make a product available check it. Uncheck it if you want to hide it for this instance of the FABtool.
  4. Click save and restart the tool.

App language

  1. Start the FABtool (Preferrably the demo version of the system you intend to use)
  2. Go to settings and select app settings.
  3. Go to App and look for App language. Select a language from the pull down.
  4. Click save and restart the tool.

App version

  1. Start the FABtool (Preferrably the demo version of the system you intend to use)
  2. go to settings and select about.
  3. A small window will open. Look for App version in the text.

Updating the tool

There are two ways to update the fabtool.

1. Installation using internet connection

The easiest way to upgrade. An internet connection is required.

  • Click the FABtool updater icon on the homescreen. The tool will go online, get the latest file and install it.

2. Installation with local binary

If no internet connection is available or a lot of installations are needed and you need to save bandwidth.

  • Download the binary: download
  • From your console/terminal: fab install from-file <binary location>
