PowerView® Motorisation
The Powerview® motorisation & control system enables your window coverings to be wirelessly operated.
The battery pack gives you the option to charge in-place or at a position of your choice.
The Li-ion battery chemistry gives a prolonged operating life. (For larger and heavier blinds; ±300 up and down cycles / 9-12months of operation)
Mounting options
The battery Pack is externally mounted,
It can either be mounted onto the headrail, using clips or adhesive fixing strip.
Or onto the wall using our wall mounting brackets.
Easier on the environment

4.1 Transportation Guidelines

When transporting Litium ion Batteries, one should consider the following regulations. Lithium batteries (or cells) are considered as Dangerous Goods due to the fact that they can overheat and ignite under certain conditions.
Applicable regulation for relevant transport modes considered by Hunter Douglas are:

4.2 AIR

4.2.1 Certification and Packaging

The PowerView Lithium ion battery pack meets the requirements of UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III, subsection 38.3. or any subsequent revision and amendment applicable at the date of the type testing.
The battery pack is categorised in the following UN number groups concerning packing instructions:

4.2.2.1 Lithium ion batteries - UN 3480 Lithium ion Batteries 965 section IB General Requirements

Out of the box our PowerView® Battery pack complies to the below requirements; when shipping the batteries to customers or 3rd parties the below should be taken into account:

  • For lithium ion batteries, the Watt-hour rating is not more than 100 Wh;
    • The Watt-hour rating must be marked on the outside of the battery case except for those batteries manufactured before 1 January 2009;
  • Lithium ion cells and batteries must be offered for transport at a state of charge not exceeding 30 per cent of their rated capacity. Batteries at a state of charge greater than 30 per cent of their rated capacity may only be shipped with the approval of the State of Origin and the State of the Operator under the written conditions established by those authorities.
  • Nett weight of package: 10 kg Cargo Aircraft Only

4.2.2.2 Additional Requirements

  • Batteries must be packed in inner packagings that completely enclose the cell or battery then placed in a strong rigid outer packaging.
  • Batteries must be protected so as to prevent short circuits. This includes protection against contact with conductive materials within the same packaging that could lead to a short circuit.

  • Each package must be capable of withstanding a 1.2 m drop test in any orientation without:

    • damage to cells or batteries contained therein;
    • shifting of the contents so as to allow battery to battery (or cell to cell) contact;
    • release of contents.
  • Each package must be marked with the appropriate lithium battery mark (1) in addition to the appropriate Class 9 hazard label (2) and the cargo aircraft only label (3).

4.2.3.1 Lithium ion batteries packed with equipment - UN 3481 Lithium ion Batteries 966 section II General Requirements

Out of the box our PowerView® Battery pack complies to the below requirements; when shipping the batteries to customers or 3rd parties the below should be taken into account:

  • For lithium ion batteries, the Watt-hour rating is not more than 100 Wh;
    • The Watt-hour rating must be marked on the outside of the battery case except for those batteries manufactured before 1 January 2009;
  • Nett weight of Batteries contained in package: 5 kg

4.2.3.2 Additional Requirements

  • Batteries must be packed in inner packagings that completely enclose the cell or battery then placed in or either with the equipment in a strong rigid outer packaging.
  • Batteries must be protected so as to prevent short circuits. This includes protection against contact with conductive materials within the same packaging that could lead to a short circuit.
  • Each package must be capable of withstanding a 1.2 m drop test in any orientation without:
    • damage to cells or batteries contained therein;
    • shifting of the contents so as to allow battery to battery (or cell to cell) contact;
    • release of contents.
  • Each package must be marked with the appropriate lithium battery mark (1) without the mark being folded.

  • The words “lithium ion batteries, in compliance with Section II of PI966” must be placed on the air waybill, when an air waybill is used.
  • Any person preparing or offering cells or batteries for transport must receive adequate instruction on these requirements commensurate with their responsibilities.

For all above categories the following warning applies.

Shipping not allowed when:

  • Batteries are defective, or damaged and when they have the potential of producing a dangerous evolution of heat, fire or short circuit
  • Batteries which are in the Waste categories or shipped for recycling unless approved by the appropriate national authority of the State of Origin and the State of the Operator.

4.3 ROAD & SEA

Hunter Douglas original packaging method of PowerView® Lithium Ion Battery complies to ADR and IMDG regulations as do the Batteries themselves. they can be shipped at a maximum weight of 30kgs per package.

Packaging should always contain the Lithium ion battery mark with applicable UN number. (See above)

5. Warning and user notes

  • Protect Battery from shocks during transport, storage and assembly.

  • Do not use the battery in case of visible damage tot the battery or battery case

  • Indoor installation only. do not allow battery to get wet or exposed to high humidity or extreme temperatures.

  • Avoid installation in direct sunlight.

  • A low battery charge status is signaled in different ways:

    • Connected motorized shade moves with slow speed or won’t operate at all
    • LED flash signaling on the push button of connected motorized shade
    • Shown red battery status indicator in optional APP for the connected motorized shade
